Google claims that the IT and Internet sectors under the flag have been using the Gemini AI model to detect advertisements posted on the Google Ads market that violate its rules and guidelines.

In 2025, 8,3 billion advertisements were banned or removed from Google, of which, number nine, some 270.7 million were blocked or removed. It is also the third category of restricted advertising, with a total of 123.9 million restricted advertisements. Over the past year or two, Google has paid increasing attention to the issue of advertising because of growing public and government concerns about the visibility of legal and illegal platform content in multiple markets. The company also responded to concerns raised by several countries, including the United Kingdom, Brazil, the Netherlands and Australia. Google Ireland announced in January this year that advertising requirements would be tightened as of early March 2026. The Google Ads team in Google Ireland informed interested parties that those accounts that were “subject to repeated revocations or irregularities” could be revoked or their subsequent Google Ads applications for certification would be rejected.

In its 2025 report, Google disclosed large-scale enforcement measures against publishers. When public policy violations are broken down by number of pages, lottery and game distributors rank fifth with 9.7 million violations. However, the report does not disclose in detail the nature of these sites or indicate whether the operators are using Google Ads for their own promotion in their target countries. Recently, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security of Brazil (MJSP) sent letters to Google and Apple requesting clarification of “the availability of illegal lottery applications” in Google Play and App Store. According to MJSP, SPA, the regulatory body under the Brazilian Ministry of Finance, does not license these applications. The MJSP has ordered Google and Apple to publish updated lists of all procedures in the categories of lottery, lottery, etc. of the two company stores and to provide a detailed description of company policy and pre-screening process. Large technology companies, including apples and Google, and social media giants, such as Meta and X, continue to face pressure to stop the spread of online lottery. Regulators in a number of markets, including the United Kingdom and Brazil, also raised the issue of the use of cyberred to promote illicit products.
