Earlier, the Steam Market of the Anti-Terrorism Elite 2 (Counter-Strike 2; CS2) had triggered a social outcry as a result of an update that caused the entire sword-shaped trading market to collapse by over $3 billion.
According to the official update of the Anti-Terrorism Elite 2, Valve expands the synthetic function of “replacement of contracts” in the game to allow players to synthesize 5 “hidden” class (red) items of the StatTrak military knife (in gold) that were previously open at a low chance, while 5 common hidden items can be combined with a common blade or a common glove, which can also be traded at Steam market.

Although this change has little impact on ordinary players, for those who treat CS2 as a “digital asset market” it is a replica of the thunderbolt — simply because these items, which were previously available at a low chance, can be synthesized, and therefore the transaction price on the market has collapsed.
According to Pricefire, the market value of the CS2 Steam market fell by billions of dollars 24 hours after it was updated and SteamDB observed that it had fallen 49 per cent and evaporated $3 billion until yesterday.
